Chennai, June18:
Tamil Nadu Governor Arlekar on Thursday described the recent political developments in the State as a “whistle revolution,” highlighting a significant shift in the political landscape during his address at the Legislative Assembly.
Delivering his customary speech at the start of the Assembly session, Governor Arlekar referred to the rise of the new government as a transformative moment in Tamil Nadu’s political history. He remarked that the mandate given by the people reflects a clear desire for change and a new direction in governance.
The Governor’s address, prepared by the State government, outlined its vision, policy priorities, and proposed welfare and development initiatives. In his speech, he emphasized transparency, efficient administration, and inclusive growth as key focus areas of the new dispensation.
Referring to the electoral outcome, Arlekar noted that the people had ushered in a new political phase, which he termed a “whistle revolution,” symbolising a break from traditional political patterns and the emergence of a fresh leadership.
The Assembly session, which began earlier in the day with the Tamil Thai Vazhthu, marks the first sitting after the new government assumed office and proved its majority in the House. Further discussions on the Governor’s address and legislative business are expected to continue in the coming days.
