Chennai, June 18:
The Tamil Nadu School Education Department has released the academic calendar for 2026–27, outlining 210 working days and 155 holidays for schools across the state.
The calendar also details the schedule for quarterly, half-yearly and annual examinations. July will have 18 holidays, while September and December will each have 19 holidays. In January 2027, schools will remain closed for six days. To ensure syllabus completion, select Saturdays have been designated as working days.
As per the schedule, the first-term (quarterly) exams will be conducted from September 17 to 25, followed by holidays from September 26 to October 4. The second-term (half-yearly) exams are slated from December 15 to 23, with holidays from December 24 to January 3.
The third-term (annual) exams will take place from April 7 to 23, with April 23 expected to be the last working day of the academic year.
