Ayodhya, June 20:

Amid the ongoing controversy over alleged donation irregularities at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, construction committee chief Nripendra Mishra has flagged serious lapses in management and oversight.

He said the episode exposed weak supervision and failure to implement standard operating procedures (SOPs), calling for a complete overhaul of the temple’s administrative system.

Mishra noted that key safeguards—such as strict protocols for handling and counting donations—were not properly followed, raising concerns about accountability. He also pointed out structural issues like informal, volunteer-driven management and lack of defined responsibilities.

The controversy, sparked by allegations of missing donation funds, has prompted the Uttar Pradesh government to set up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the matter, with political reactions intensifying across parties.

Mishra emphasised that restoring transparency and strengthening systems is crucial to rebuilding devotees’ trust.
