Chennai, June 26:
Indian Institute of Technology Madras has commenced a major student accommodation project in partnership with Elevate Campuses Limited, aimed at strengthening its campus residential infrastructure.
The new facility, expected to be completed by mid-2028, will house over 1,800 PhD students and project staff across two blocks, offering fully furnished rooms and modern amenities. The project will also include study spaces, recreation zones, sports facilities, and 24×7 security.
IIT Madras Director V. Kamakoti said the initiative reflects a push towards world-class, sustainable campus infrastructure through a public-private partnership model.
