Chennai, June 27:
The AIADMK has convened a meeting of its women’s wing on July 1 at the party headquarters in Royapettah as part of efforts to strengthen its organisation ahead of the upcoming Assembly by-election.
The meeting will be chaired by party general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami and is expected to review the functioning of the women’s wing while exploring ways to enhance its role in organisational and political activities.
State-level office-bearers, district women’s wing secretaries and other key functionaries have been directed to participate, with discussions likely to focus on mobilising women cadre for the by-election campaign.
The meeting is also expected to deliberate on protest strategies and outreach programmes highlighting what the party terms as the failures of the State government, while chalking out a statewide action plan for the women’s wing.
