The death toll in the ammonia gas leak incident in Tamil Naduâs Tiruvallur district has risen to 16, marking a sharp increase in casualties as more affected workers succumb to their injuries.
The leak occurred at a private seafood processing unit, where a large number of workersâmany of them migrant labourersâwere exposed to toxic ammonia gas. Several others remain under treatment in hospitals, with authorities closely monitoring their condition.
