Chennai, July 1:
A crucial consultation meeting of the AIADMK women’s wing functionaries is currently underway at the party headquarters in Royapettah, Chennai, under the leadership of party General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami. The meeting assumes significance as it comes in the wake of the party’s defeat in the 2026 Assembly elections, prompting a series of review and strategy discussions.
As part of ongoing internal assessments, Palaniswami has been conducting district-wise consultations with party administrators. Continuing that effort, the focus has now shifted to engaging with women’s wing representatives to strengthen grassroots coordination and organisational structure.
During the meeting, key discussions are centred around the party’s future growth, next-phase political strategies, and the responsibilities to be undertaken by women functionaries. The leadership is expected to outline actionable plans to revitalise the party and enhance its outreach among voters.
The interaction is seen as a step towards restructuring and energising the cadre, with particular emphasis on the role of women in expanding the party’s influence ahead of upcoming political challenges.
