The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to announce the results of the NEET-UG 2026 examination by July 20, clearing the way for medical admissions across the country.
The entrance test, originally scheduled for May 3, was cancelled following a question paper leak. A re-examination was later conducted on June 21, with nearly 23 lakh candidates appearing at centres nationwide. According to the NTA, the evaluation process is in its final stages and results are being expedited to avoid further delays in the academic calendar.
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will release the counselling schedule for the 15% All India quota seats, including institutions such as AIIMS, JIPMER, central and deemed universities. State authorities will announce counselling for the remaining 85% quota only after the results are declared.
The delay has also impacted admission timelines for several higher education courses, as many universities align their schedules with the medical admission process. Once results are published, candidates can participate in both All India and state-level counselling.
The NEET-UG scorecard will include subject-wise marks, percentile scores, All India Rank, and qualifying status. Candidates are advised to keep their login credentials ready and regularly check the official NTA website for updates.
