Chennai, July 4:
The Indian Embassy in Thailand has issued a fresh travel advisory for Indian nationals visiting Thailand, outlining key documentation and entry requirements, including a minimum cash rule of around ₹58,000.
The advisory comes after Thailand ended its visa-free entry programme for Indian passport holders, making it mandatory for travellers to secure appropriate visas before departure. Visitors must carry a valid passport with at least six months’ validity, confirmed return tickets, hotel bookings, and a clear travel itinerary.
The embassy has also stressed the need to complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) within 72 hours prior to arrival. Additionally, travellers using Visa on Arrival or visa waiver provisions are required to carry at least 20,000 Thai Baht in cash, which may be verified during immigration checks.
The advisory cautions job seekers against entering Thailand on tourist visas, warning that such actions could violate immigration rules. Transit passengers have also been advised to carry all relevant documents, including onward travel tickets and destination visas.
Officials urged travellers to carefully verify all requirements before departure to ensure a smooth and hassle-free entry into Thailand.
