Chennai, July 6:
The Tamil Nadu Teacher Eligibility Test (TNTET) 2026 – Paper II was conducted successfully across the state on Sunday, recording an impressive 95.94% attendance, according to the Teachers Recruitment Board.
Officials stated that the examination took place at 613 centres across Tamil Nadu. Out of 1,67,743 registered candidates, as many as 1,60,929 candidates appeared for the test, reflecting strong participation among in-service teachers.
The Teachers Recruitment Board confirmed that the examination was carried out smoothly, fairly, and without any major disruptions. No significant irregularities were reported from any of the centres, ensuring a transparent process.
Many candidates who appeared for the exam shared that Paper II was comparatively easier than Paper I, which was conducted a day earlier. While opinions varied, several educators expressed optimism that a higher number of candidates are likely to qualify this year.
A government school teacher noted that the paper was manageable and expected that most in-service teachers would clear the exam despite mixed reactions about difficulty levels.
Earlier, TNTET Paper I witnessed 59,535 candidates appearing out of 61,386 registered candidates, continuing the trend of high attendance across both examinations.
The TNTET, conducted by the Teachers Recruitment Board, is a crucial eligibility examination for candidates aspiring to become teachers in Tamil Nadu government schools. With high attendance and positive feedback, this year’s examination is expected to yield a strong pool of qualified educators.
