Chennai, July 18:
TNCC chief Manickam Tagore on Friday raised concern over reports that confidential documents and technical drawings linked to the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant had allegedly surfaced on the dark web, urging Prime Minister Narendra Modi to order an immediate and comprehensive probe.
In a social media post, the TNCC president said the reported breach underscores the risks of entrusting sensitive national infrastructure data to private entities. He warned that any compromise involving strategic installations such as nuclear facilities could have serious implications for national security.
Tagore said he has written to the Prime Minister’s Office seeking urgent intervention and swift action to address the alleged lapse. He called on the Centre to treat the issue with utmost seriousness and ensure measures are taken to prevent further exposure of sensitive information.
He also urged the National Security Council Secretariat and the National Security Adviser to examine the matter and conduct a thorough investigation.
Stressing that there can be no compromise on national security, Tagore said the facts behind the reported leak must be established and accountability fixed if any lapses are found.
