Washington, July 23:
The United States carried out a 12th consecutive night of airstrikes on Iran, escalating tensions after a ceasefire collapsed, with both sides issuing fresh warnings and raising concerns over global oil supply routes.
The strikes, ordered by Donald Trump, were aimed at weakening Iran’s capacity to threaten commercial shipping, according to US Central Command. Washington warned it would target Iranian infrastructure if Tehran attacked vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, a key artery for global oil trade.
Iran responded sharply, with Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi warning of an “eye for an eye” response. Tehran signalled it could strike regional energy infrastructure and potentially disrupt oil exports, intensi
