Hodeidah, Aug 5:
An India-flagged cargo vessel, MSV Faize Noore Oliya, sank in the Red Sea off Yemen after being hit by a projectile near Hodeidah. All 14 crew members, including 13 Indians, were safely rescued by Yemeni forces and given medical assistance.
India strongly condemned the “unprovoked” attack and said the safety of its seafarers remains a top priority. Authorities are coordinating with Yemeni officials to ensure the crew’s well-being.
The incident comes amid rising attacks on commercial ships in the region, raising concerns over maritime security and global trade routes.
