Director Arun Matheswaran’s DC, starring Lokesh Kanagaraj and Wamiqa Gabbi, has crossed the Rs 50 crore mark globally within four days of its theatrical release. Producer Sun Pictures announced the milestone on Tuesday, describing the film as “exploding” at the box office.
The film marks Lokesh Kanagaraj’s first full-fledged outing as a lead actor. He plays Devadas, an outcast who embarks on a bloody quest for redemption and justice after taking revenge on those who wronged an innocent family. The cast also includes Wamiqa Gabbi, Sanjana Krishnamoorthy, Krish Dayal, Avinash Raghudevan and Thalaivasal Vijay.
DC has also drawn attention for Anirudh’s music and Mukesh G’s striking cinematography. The gritty action drama has received appreciation for integrating its soundtrack into the narrative, while several visual sequences, including the interval and climax, have emerged as talking points. With its strong opening run, DC has given Lokesh’s unexpected transition from filmmaker to leading actor a promising box-office start.
