Chennai, Aug 19:
An IndiGo flight from Tiruchy to Chennai was delayed by nearly six hours on Tuesday after a technical issue was detected before departure, leaving around 140 passengers stranded at Tiruchy airport.
The flight, scheduled to depart Chennai at 7.10 am, reached Tiruchy around 8.10 am and was initially scheduled to leave at 8.30 am. However, the technical issue was detected while the aircraft was being prepared for departure.
Passengers were asked to wait at the airport while the issue was rectified. The flight eventually departed Tiruchy at around 2.15 pm and reached Chennai at 3.20 pm, about six hours behind schedule.
Chennai airport officials described the delay as being due to an operational reason.
