Galle, Aug 20:
India has beaten Sri Lanka by 165 runs at Galle in the first Test of the two-match Test series in Galle on Wednesday. Left-arm spinner Manav Suthar has picked up 10-wickets in the game and played a pivotal role in India’s win. Sonal Dinusha played a lone hand for Sri Lanka with 81 runs.
Earlier, Devdutt Padikkal scored a massive century in the first innings to help India put on a massive 462 runs, and since then it has been a catch-up for Sri Lanka. Although Sonal Dinusha and Niroshan Dickwella batted splendidly, Sri Lanka could only manage to get to 284 runs.
In the second innings, India crumbled a bit, getting bundled out for 193 runs, giving a target of 372 runs, and Sri Lanka was never in the chase, as apart from the partnership between Dhananjaya de Silva and Sonal, the hosts could not offer much resistance.
