Global drivetrain solutions provider Flender has inaugurated a new generator production facility in Chennai under its Winergy brand, strengthening its manufacturing footprint and localisation efforts in India’s growing wind energy sector.
The facility expands Flender’s capabilities across the wind drivetrain value chain, including generators, gearboxes, couplings and drivetrain services. Integrated winding operations at the site will further increase local manufacturing capacity and improve customer responsiveness.
Flender VP Wind Generators Joerg Sieber said the facility marked an important milestone in the company’s growth in India and reinforced its long-term commitment to the country’s wind industry.
Flender India Country CEO Vinod Shetty said the investment would support rising demand for wind power solutions while contributing to local industrial development and skilled employment.
