CHENNAI, Aug 25:
All TASMAC liquor shops and bars in Chennai district will remain closed on Wednesday, August 26, in view of Milad-un-Nabi, Chennai District Collector has announced.
According to a statement issued by the Collector, the closure will apply to all TASMAC retail liquor outlets and attached bars across the district.
The order also covers bars operating under FL-2 licences, hotel bars holding FL-3 licences, and liquor outlets and establishments operating under FL-3(A), FL-3(AA) and FL-11 licences, among others.
The Collector said no liquor sales would be permitted at these establishments on Wednesday.
The administration warned that strict action would be taken against establishments and individuals violating the closure order under the applicable liquor sale and regulatory rules.
Officials have been directed to ensure strict implementation of the dry-day order across Chennai district during the Milad-un-Nabi observance.
