Tirupati, Aug 25:
The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has dismissed as false a video circulating on social media purportedly showing a thread-like object inside the famous Tirupati laddu prasadam, urging devotees not to believe or share unverified content.
The video, which has been circulating widely in recent days, allegedly shows a Tirupati laddu purchased at the Tirumala temple containing what appears to be a thread-like substance.
In a statement, TTD officials said the video was completely false and appeared to have been created with the intention of damaging the reputation of the Devasthanam and creating doubts among devotees about the quality of the laddu prasadam.
The Devasthanam warned that action would be taken against those responsible for creating and spreading such rumours. It also urged people not to engage in activities that could hurt the religious sentiments of devotees.
TTD urges devotees not to share unverified videos
TTD appealed to devotees not to circulate or forward fake and unverified videos through social media.
The Devasthanam said devotees with complaints or genuine concerns should avoid posting them on social media and instead bring them directly to the attention of the concerned vigilance officials.
It further advised devotees to rely only on official communications for information concerning the temple and its prasadam.
The clarification comes amid the rapid circulation of the video online, with TTD stressing that social media users should verify the authenticity of such claims before sharing them.
