Beijing, Aug 25: China has abruptly postponed the launch of its ambitious Chang’e-7 lunar exploration mission, raising questions over the revised timeline for one of the country’s most important projects aimed at exploring the Moon’s south polar region.
The mission is designed to carry out detailed scientific studies of the lunar south pole, including investigations into water ice, surface conditions and potential resources that could support future human exploration.
Chang’e-7 is a key part of China’s long-term lunar programme and is expected to deploy multiple spacecraft for orbital, landing and exploration activities.
