Islamabad, Aug 25:
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has demanded immediate cardiac care for former prime minister Imran Khan, alleging that authorities failed to conduct a medically recommended CT Coronary Angiography despite concerns raised by cardiologists.
The 73-year-old Khan was taken from Adiala jail to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences on Friday for an eye procedure and other medical examinations. Doctors reportedly recommended a cardiac CT angiography, but the test was not carried out before he was returned to jail.
PTI said the required specialist facilities were available at Shifa International Hospital and demanded that Khan be taken there immediately for the examination.
The party also referred to a Supreme Court order concerning Khan’s comprehensive medical examination and treatment, alleging that authorities had bypassed the directive by taking him to a hospital where the recommended test was not performed.
