Actor Yash praised Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay for his commitment and dedication to public service during the Chennai pre-release event of Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups on Monday.
Speaking at the event ahead of the film’s August 26 release, Yash said he had admired Vijay’s commitment and the love and respect he had earned from the people of Tamil Nadu.
“We have really learned a lot from him. We have admired him for his commitment,” Yash said, adding that Vijay had “set a new trend” through his political journey.
Yash also highlighted Vijay’s discipline and dedication, referring to producer K Venkat Narayana’s comments about the Chief Minister’s passion and his efforts for the welfare of Tamil Nadu.
The actor said Vijay had now reached a stage where he was “giving the love and respect back to people of Tamil Nadu.” He also expressed hope that similar political trends would emerge across the country.
Yash further said he had heard that the recent Tamil Nadu election was conducted transparently and described Vijay’s electoral mandate as a responsibility given to him by the people.
“He has the capacity to live up to it,” Yash said.
Meanwhile, Toxic, directed by Geetu Mohandas, stars Yash in dual roles and features Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth. The film, shot simultaneously in Kannada and English, will also release in dubbed Tamil, Hindi, Telugu and Malayalam versions.
The action thriller, one of the most expensive Kannada films, is slated to hit theatres on August 26.
