Chennai, Aug 26:
Ray Tech India Pvt. Ltd., one of the world’s largest providers of industrial X-ray inspection solutions, today unveiled an ambitious growth roadmap for India, aiming to achieve annual turnover in the tens of millions of US dollars and establish a dominant market position in India’s approximately USD 300 million industrial X-ray inspection market over the next three to five years.
The announcement comes with the inauguration of its new state-of-the-art showroom in Sholinganallur, Chennai, which will serve as a technology, demonstration and customer engagement hub.
Chennai showroom marks launchpad for expansion across electronics, semiconductors, automotive, aerospace and NDT.
It entered the Indian market in August 2025 with a two-member team and has since expanded to nearly 15 employees. In just a year, the company has placed close to 20 X-Ray inspection systems in India, building a growing customer and distributor network.
Chennai has been chosen as a strategic base for the next phase, driven by Tamil Nadu’s strong industrial ecosystem spanning electronics, automotive, engineering, semiconductor-related industries and advanced manufacturing. The new showroom will facilitate live demonstrations of advanced X-Ray inspection systems while supporting distributor and partner development.
Beyond sales and market expansion, Ray Tech India plans to progressively build local engineering, manufacturing, technical expertise, training and technology-transfer capabilities in India. Over the next three to five years, the company aims to work towards developing X-Ray inspection equipment that can eventually carry the “Made in India” identity.
The company also plans to explore collaborations with the Tamil Nadu Government, educational institutions and technology partners to advance technical training, research, skill development and knowledge transfer in X-Ray inspection technology.
“Our objective is not simply to sell X-Ray machines in India. We want to build capabilities in India,” said Dr. Liu Jun, Chairman, Ray Tech Group. “India represents a strategic market for us, and we see tremendous opportunities to work with Indian industries, government institutions and educational organisations. Our long-term vision is to contribute to India’s technology ecosystem and, ultimately, develop X-Ray equipment that can proudly carry the ‘Made in India’ identity.”
With the Chennai facility as its launchpad, Ray Tech India will accelerate its presence in electronics and NDT, while pursuing opportunities across automotive, semiconductors, casting, aerospace and other advanced manufacturing sectors. The company’s roadmap signals a shift from establishing a market presence to building a broader industrial technology and manufacturing ecosystem in India.
