Shooting for actor Silambarasan TR’s much-awaited film Arasan, directed by Vetrimaaran, is progressing rapidly in Chennai, with the team currently filming on a massive set erected in Taramani.
Produced by Kalaippuli S Thanu under the banner of V Creations, the film’s Chennai schedule is proceeding as planned without any reported delays.
Silambarasan TR, director Vetrimaaran and music composer Anirudh Ravichander recently met on the sets to discuss the progress of the film, further raising expectations surrounding the project.
Arasan is set against a backdrop connected to Vetrimaaran’s Vada Chennai universe. Silambarasan plays the lead, while Vijay Sethupathi is said to be playing a police officer. Priyanka Arulmohan is also part of the prominent cast.
Adding to the film’s connection with Vada Chennai, Andrea Jeremiah and Samuthirakani are reprising their respective roles as Chandra and Guna.
The cast also includes Kishore Kumar G, Yogi Babu, Vikranth Santhosh, Chaithra J Achar and Tejeenthan Arunasalam.
Written and directed by Vetrimaaran, Arasan brings together Silambarasan, Vetrimaaran and Anirudh for the first time. Anirudh is composing the music, while R Velraj is handling cinematography and R Ramar is the editor.
The film’s connection to the Vada Chennai universe, the return of familiar characters and the addition of Vijay Sethupathi have generated considerable interest among Tamil cinema fans.
With the Chennai schedule progressing steadily, the makers are expected to announce further updates soon. Arasan continues to remain one of the most awaited Tamil projects, particularly among fans of Silambarasan and Vetrimaaran.
