Actor Simran recently met weightlifter Raja Muthupandi, who won a silver medal at the recently held 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, and congratulated him on his achievement.
Simran appreciated Muthupandi’s efforts at the prestigious international sporting event and praised him for bringing pride to India and Tamil Nadu.
“With this victory, you have already brought pride to India and our Tamil Nadu. It is a matter of even greater happiness and pride to see someone from our own Tamil Nadu achieve such a remarkable feat on the international stage,” Simran said.
She also wished the athlete continued success, saying she hoped he would maintain the same determination and perseverance and win several more medals in national and international competitions.
Originally from Kovilpatti, Muthupandi was also part of the Indian contingent at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
At the latest Commonwealth Games, he lifted 126 kg in the snatch and 160 kg in the jerk in the weightlifting competition to secure the silver medal.
Simran’s meeting with the athlete and her words of appreciation have highlighted the achievement of the Tamil Nadu sportsperson on the international stage.
