Chennai Mayor R. Priya inaugurated an HIV awareness campaign aimed at educating the public about HIV prevention, testing and treatment and promoting greater awareness against misconceptions surrounding the infection.
The programme focused on creating awareness among the public about HIV and encouraging people to seek timely testing and medical assistance.
Health officials and volunteers involved in the campaign interacted with members of the public and highlighted the importance of prevention, early detection and appropriate treatment.
The initiative also sought to counter stigma and misinformation surrounding HIV and encourage people to approach healthcare services without hesitation.
The campaign forms part of efforts to strengthen public awareness and promote responsible health practices in the city.
