Chennai, Sept 4:
The Greater Chennai Corporation has advised residents to use alternative cremation grounds as maintenance and improvement works are being carried out at the Hindu crematorium in Villivakkam.
The Corporation said the facility would remain unavailable during the maintenance period and requested residents to make use of other cremation grounds in nearby areas.
The civic body has appealed to the public to cooperate with officials and make alternative arrangements until the works at the Villivakkam facility are completed.
Officials said the maintenance works are being undertaken to improve facilities at the cremation ground and ensure better services for the public.
