Actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan has announced his next Tamil film with director S U Arun Kumar, known for critically acclaimed films such as Chithha and Veera Dheera Sooran. The collaboration was announced by Haasanâs Raaj Kamal Films International on Thursday with an intriguing first glimpse.
The production house shared a glimpse from Haasanâs photoshoot along with the cryptic phrase âDho Vaarenâ, meaning âHere I comeâ. The post tagged both Kamal Haasan and Arun Kumar, confirming their collaboration.
The glimpse has already generated considerable curiosity, with Haasan sporting an intense new look. Dressed in a black shirt and olive-green trousers, the veteran actor is seen holding a sickle, suggesting a gritty and potentially action-oriented setting. However, the makers have not yet revealed the filmâs title, storyline or details about the rest of the cast.
Arun Kumar has established himself as a filmmaker known for strong and unconventional storytelling. He made his directorial debut with Pannaiyarum Padminiyum and subsequently directed Sethupathi. His 2023 film Chithha, starring Siddharth, earned widespread critical acclaim for its sensitive treatment of a difficult subject. He later directed Vikram-starrer Veera Dheera Sooran.
The new project adds another major film to Kamal Haasanâs upcoming line-up. The actor was last seen in Mani Ratnamâs Thug Life, released in 2025, and has several other projects in various stages.
With the title, plot and cast of the new film still under wraps, the first glimpse has set expectations high for the collaboration between the veteran actor and one of Tamil cinemaâs prominent young filmmakers.
