The team of Gatta Kusthi 2, starring Vishnu Vishal and Aishwarya Lekshmi and directed by Chella Ayyavu, celebrated the film completing 50 days in theatres with a special thanksgiving event. The film is jointly produced by Vels Film International and Vishnu Vishal Studioz.
Actors, technicians and other members of the film’s crew were honoured with shields and medals at the event. Director Chella Ayyavu said the film’s 50-day theatrical run was particularly special at a time when long theatrical runs have become increasingly rare. He thanked audiences and the media for supporting the film.
Vishnu Vishal, who also co-produced the film, thanked audiences and the entire team, saying fans remain the biggest force behind a film’s success. He also thanked veteran actor Ramya Krishnan for her special appearance and praised the response to her character.
Aishwarya Lekshmi said she was delighted by the film’s 50-day run and thanked the director, Vishnu Vishal and the entire team. Ramya Krishnan and Prabhu Deva also congratulated the cast and crew, while several members of the team expressed hope that the Gatta Kusthi franchise would continue with a third instalment.
The event also featured special guests, including Tamil Nadu Minister Rajmohan and Prabhu Deva. The film, which released on July 3, continues the franchise built around family entertainment, wrestling and relationships.
