Chennai, Sept 9:
The second round of counselling for admission to vacant B.Ed seats in government and government-aided colleges of education across Tamil Nadu has commenced, with eligible candidates allowed to apply online until September 15, 2026.
According to the Higher Education Department, 578 B.Ed seats remained vacant after the first phase of counselling. The second round of admissions began on September 7.
Of the total vacancies, 70 seats are available in government institutions, including the Institute of Advanced Study in Education at Saidapet and the Lady Willingdon Institute of Advanced Study in Education at Triplicane.
Another 508 seats are available in 10 government-aided colleges of education across the State.
Eligible students seeking admission to the vacant B.Ed seats have been advised to submit their applications online through the Tamil Nadu Government Arts and Science Admissions portal, TNGASA, within the stipulated deadline.
The last date for submitting applications is September 15. Candidates have been asked to carefully check their eligibility and other admission requirements before submitting their applications.
The second round provides another opportunity for candidates who could not secure admission during the first phase of counselling, as well as eligible applicants seeking admission against the remaining vacancies.
Officials have advised candidates to complete the online application process before the deadline to avoid last-minute technical difficulties.
The admission process covers the vacant seats available in government and government-aided B.Ed institutions and will be carried out based on the prescribed counselling and admission procedures.
