The first single ‘Magale’ from Vijay Sethupathi-starrer Baththa has been released and is receiving a good response from music lovers.
Directed by Balaji Tharaneetharan and presented by Atlee, the film is jointly produced by Star Studio18, A for Apple Studios and Cine1 Studios Production. Sai Abhyankkar has composed and sung the song, while the lyrics are penned by Karthik Netha.
Known for his energetic music, Sai Abhyankkar has explored a completely different musical style in ‘Magale’. The soothing melody presents a softer side of the composer and singer.
The song video recreates the musical world of the 1980s, with a vintage recording studio, period recording techniques and an old-school ambience. Sai Abhyankkar also appears as both the composer and singer in the video.
Built around the affectionate bond between a father and daughter, ‘Magale’ expresses a father’s love for his daughter. Karthik Netha’s poetic lyrics, Sai Abhyankkar’s gentle composition and his soulful vocals add to the emotional appeal of the song.
Baththa, starring Vijay Sethupathi and Lijomol Jose, is directed by Balaji Tharaneetharan. Sai Abhyankkar is the music composer, Selvakumar S.K. is the cinematographer, R. Kalaivanan is the editor and T. Muthuraj is the production designer.
The film is scheduled to hit theatres worldwide on October 1, 2026.
