The thanksgiving meet of Immortal, starring GV Prakash Kumar and Kaayadu Lohar, was held at Prasad Labs in Saligramam, Chennai, on Tuesday.
At the event, producer Arun Kumar Dhanasekaran presented wristwatches to several members of the film crew. After the programme, the producer surprised GV Prakash Kumar by gifting him a Yamaha RX100 bike as the film has received a good response. GV Prakash later took the bike for a ride and expressed his happiness.
Speaking at the event, GV Prakash thanked the audience and the film’s distributors for their support. He said that when distributors themselves called the team after the film’s release and spoke positively about it, it was a sign that the film was doing well.
He also thanked Kaayadu Lohar, who could not attend the event as she was busy with another shooting. When asked about the possibility of a second part of Immortal, GV Prakash said he hoped it would happen and added that the question should be put to the director.
In a lighter vein, he joked that the producer appeared disappointed that Kaayadu was not present at the event. He also joked about receiving a house as a gift, saying, âNo need for a house, sir. A watch is enough.â
Speaking to reporters later, GV Prakash said he was happy with the response to the trailer of Gladiators, which is based on Ajith Kumar’s car racing. He said the trailer’s theatrical release had received a good response.
GV Prakash also said that he would travel to Gujarat on September 22 to receive the National Award.
