Actor Vikram’s upcoming film, earlier referred to as Chiyaan 63, has been officially titled Power House. The makers unveiled the title promo on Monday on the occasion of Vinayaka Chaturthi, giving fans a glimpse of Vikram in yet another intriguing character.
Directed by Anand Shankar, the film opens with Vikram carrying a plantain tree inside an old-style house and being introduced as a caretaker who gives a ā100 per cent guaranteeā for the weddings he undertakes. Riya Shibu plays his niece, while Mekha Rajan, Subash Selvam and Samyuktha Hegde are shown as characters who report to Vikram after completing tasks assigned to them.
The promo then takes a darker turn. While Urvashi and VTV Ganesh are seen engaged in banter in the kitchen, Vikram enters a storeroom and discovers two severely injured men. He calmly mops up the blood, revealing a mysterious and ruthless side to his character. The sequence has drawn attention because of its apparent reference to Vikram’s iconic Ambi-to-Anniyan transformation from Anniyan.
Power House marks Anand Shankar’s reunion with Vikram after their 2016 film Iru Mugan. The new film has Riya Shibu, Shammy Thilakan, Urvashi, VTV Ganesh, Mekha Rajan, Samyuktha Hegde and Subash Selvam among others.
Santhosh Narayanan is composing the music, while RD Rajasekar is the cinematographer. Gopi Prasanna, who also works as a production designer, is part of the technical team, with Poornima Ramaswamy handling costume design and styling. The film is produced by Sendhil Thyagarajan and Arjun Thyagarajan under the Sathya Jyothi Films banner.
