Police have arrested a hotel owner in Tirunelveli for allegedly displaying an advertisement for biryani featuring an image of Lord Ganesha.
According to reports, the advertisement appeared during the Vinayagar Chaturthi celebrations. Police took action after receiving a complaint over the use of the deity’s image in the biryani advertisement.
The incident has triggered discussion over the use of religious images in commercial advertisements, particularly during festival occasions. Police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
