Islamabad, Sept 17:
Pakistan has extended its ban on Indian aircraft using its airspace by another month, with the restriction now set to remain in force until October 24, according to a new Notice to Airmen issued by the Pakistan Airports Authority.
The restriction applies to Indian-registered aircraft as well as aircraft operated, owned or leased by Indian airlines and operators. It also covers military flights.
The latest extension came into effect at 10.45 am on Wednesday and will remain in force until 4.59 am on October 24, 2026. The restriction covers Pakistan’s Karachi and Lahore flight information regions.
Pakistan first imposed the airspace restriction in April 2025 following the Pahalgam terror attack, with India and Pakistan subsequently imposing matching restrictions on each other’s aircraft.
The latest extension is the 17th Notice to Airmen issued by Pakistan to continue the restriction, according to reports. The measure forces affected Indian airlines to use alternative routes for flights that would otherwise pass through Pakistani airspace.
