Chennai, Sept 19:
After returning from successful UK visit inking pacts to the tune of Rs 15,300 crore investments, the Tamil Nadu government on Friday signed a MoU with US-headquarted Wall Greens India Private Limited for setting up its first Global Capacity Centres (GCCs) in India in Chennai in the presence of Chief Minister Vijay.
The US-based firm would set up GCCs at the DLF Fowntown campus in Taramani on the OMR stretch, offering high skilled jobs
The MoU was signed at the State Secretariat here by the Industry the Investment Promotion and Trade depatment in the presence of Vijay, Industries Minister S.Keerthana and government and company officials.
Wall Greens was a leading firm offering world class health and medical care in offering medical services and healthcare mintenance and consumer healthcare equipments and would be establishing its first ever GCC in India, especially in Tamil Nadu, that too in Chennai, an official release said.
In the first phase, the GCC would offer 250 high skilled jobs and would expand it in the coming years by setting up more GCCs offering more jobs, it said.
This MoU not only gives a boost to the TN government’s policy to createhigh skilled jobs in GCC sector. The company joining the State’s growth in GCC sector showed that TN was emerging as the world class technical and trade services centre in the world.
During the MoU signing event, the Chief Minister requested the US firm to offer jobs to youth in Tier-II cities.
