Chennai, Sept 21:
TASMAC employees in Tamil Nadu will be eligible for a festival advance of Rs 20,000 once a year, according to an order issued by TASMAC Managing Director Nandakumar.
The Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation (TASMAC) operates retail liquor outlets across the State. Employees working in these shops can choose any one festival each year, including Pongal, Deepavali, Christmas, Ramzan or Bakrid, to avail themselves of the advance.
The festival advance will be provided without interest and can be availed only once in a year. Employees will have to repay the amount through deductions from their monthly salary.
According to the order, Rs 2,000 will be deducted from the employee’s salary every month for 10 months, thereby recovering the full Rs 20,000 advance.
The TASMAC Managing Director has directed district managers to take necessary steps to provide the festival advance to eligible employees.
