Chennai, Sept 24:
Bank of India, Chennai Zone, has advised customers to complete important banking transactions in advance ahead of the proposed three-day nationwide bank strike from September 28 to 30, 2026.
The strike has been called by bank unions and is expected to affect branch-based services. The government has also announced that public sector banks and regional rural banks will remain open on Sunday, September 27, to help customers complete essential transactions before the proposed strike.
Bank of India said it would make all possible efforts to provide essential banking services, though certain branch services may be affected during the strike period. Customers have been advised to complete time-sensitive transactions before September 28.
Customers can use ATMs and ADWMs for cash withdrawals and other available services, while Customer Service Points can be used for eligible banking services. The bank has also advised customers to use Internet Banking, BOI Mobile Banking, UPI and other digital payment channels for routine transactions and fund transfers.
The bank has further advised customers to maintain sufficient cash for essential requirements during the strike period and avoid waiting until the last minute for transactions that require a branch visit.
Bank of India, Chennai Zone, expressed regret for any inconvenience customers may face during the proposed strike and sought their cooperation.
