Chennai, Sept 24:
Hyundai Motor India has opened bookings for its upcoming mid-size SUV, the Hyundai BAYON, with an initial booking amount of ₹11,000. Bookings are available through Hyundai’s official website and authorised dealerships across India.
The BAYON is being introduced as an Intelligent Utility Vehicle and features an in-built generative AI voice assistant aimed at providing a more intuitive and connected driving experience. Hyundai has developed the SUV around five key pillars — intelligence, safety, comfort, performance and style.
The 4.2-metre SUV is based on Hyundai’s Global K Enhanced Platform, which the company says has been engineered for 5-star Indian safety standards. The vehicle features a sculpted bonnet, futuristic front fascia, H-Edge LED daytime running lights, geometric wheel arches, wrap-around door cladding and bridge-type roof rails.
The BAYON will be powered by a Hyundai petrol powertrain and will be offered with Manual and Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT) options. Hyundai says the SUV has been designed to offer enhanced space utilisation, including improved legroom, headroom and shoulder room for occupants.
Hyundai Motor India Managing Director and CEO Tarun Garg said the BAYON combines advanced technology, futuristic design and comprehensive safety to create an intelligent mobility experience for new-age Indian customers.
