‘RX 100’ fame Kartikeya Gummakonda is set to make his directorial debut with the upcoming boxing drama ‘Comeback’. The actor announced the film on his birthday along with a special glimpse, marking his return to the big screen after a gap of around two years.
Produced under Kartikeya Creative Works, the film has his wife Lohitha Reddy as producer. Kartikeya plays the lead role as a boxer and also takes charge as director and writer. The glimpse introduces a character who has been away from the boxing world for three years and is now attempting to make a challenging return. The film is scheduled for a theatrical release in 2027.
The technical team includes Vijay Bulganin as music director, Jagadeesh Cheekati as cinematographer, Kalyan Suryaprakash as editor, Shilpa Tanguturu as costume designer and Surya Akella as creative director. K.R. Kumar Manne is handling production design, while Sudheer Telaprolu is the executive producer. ‘Comeback’ is expected to focus on the physical and emotional challenges of a boxer attempting to return to the ring.
