Chennai, Sept 24:

The Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation (TASMAC) has increased the monthly consolidated remuneration of employees working in its retail vending shops with effect from September 1. The decision follows an announcement made by Prohibition and Excise Minister K Vignesh in the Assembly.

As per the revised structure, the monthly remuneration of supervisors has been increased from Rs 22,313 to Rs 33,023, an increase of Rs 10,710. For salesmen, the remuneration has gone up from Rs 19,413 to Rs 30,284, while assistant salesmen will receive Rs 28,680 instead of Rs 17,925.

TASMAC Managing Director K Nanthakumar, in an order dated September 22, directed senior regional managers and district managers to implement the revised remuneration. The decision followed representations from trade unions and labour associations seeking better remuneration and welfare measures.

The TASMAC Board has also revised the Employees’ Provident Fund contribution structure from the September 2026 wage month. The employee’s 12 per cent contribution will be recovered from the enhanced remuneration, while TASMAC will bear the employer’s 12 per cent contribution.

Officials have been instructed to ensure that the revised remuneration is reflected in pay bills, service records and establishment returns and that eligible employees’ EPF contributions are duly credited.
