Sivakarthikeyan’s 27th film, tentatively titled SK27, has gone on floors, with Parking fame Ramkumar Balakrishnan taking over as director. The film marks the first collaboration between Sivakarthikeyan and Ramkumar, and is backed by Sathya Jyothi Films.
The production house announced the commencement of the film on Friday by releasing a poster featuring a car and a group of goons, accompanied by the tagline, “The more they came, the bigger he looked.” Sendhil Thyagarajan and Arjun Thyagarajan are backing the project.
The makers are yet to reveal details about the film’s genre, plot, cast and technical crew. The project was earlier announced with Venkat Prabhu as the director, but the latest announcement confirms Ramkumar Balakrishnan as the filmmaker.
Ramkumar made his directorial debut with Parking, which won him the National Film Award for Best Screenplay, while the film was also honoured as Best Feature Film in Tamil at the 71st National Film Awards. SK27 will be his second directorial venture.
Sivakarthikeyan, meanwhile, is currently shooting for Seyon, directed by Sivakumar Murugesan. The film also stars Bhagyashri Borse, Raj B Shetty and Seeman, among others, and is being produced by Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Films International.
With the combination of Sivakarthikeyan and the filmmaker behind Parking, SK27 has generated interest even before details about its story and genre are officially revealed.
