Chennai, Sept 26:

Devotees turned up in large numbers at the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) temple on Venkatanarayana Road in T Nagar on Saturday, the second Saturday of the Purattasi month, to offer prayers and have darshan of Lord Venkateswara.

Special arrangements, including special decoration and abhishekam, were made at the temple to mark the occasion. From the time the temple opened in the morning, devotees were seen waiting in long queues for darshan.

With a large number of devotees gathering at the temple, police personnel were deployed to regulate the crowd and manage traffic in the area. Security arrangements were also stepped up in and around the temple premises.

As part of the traffic arrangements, the road adjoining the temple has been converted into a one-way stretch. Parking of vehicles on either side of the road has also been restricted to ensure smooth movement of devotees and vehicles.
