Netflix has unveiled the trailer of #Love, a new Tamil web series directed by Balaji Mohan and produced by Soundarya Rajinikanth, who also serves as the showrunner. Starring Arjun Das and Aishwarya Lekshmi, the series explores modern love, dating and relationships in the digital age, blending humour with emotional drama. The trailer was launched at an event in Chennai attended by the cast and crew.
The story revolves around Matthew and Tara, founders of two competing dating apps, FOUND and Find My Bae. While their businesses are built around helping people find compatible partners, the two struggle to find love for themselves. Their rivalry takes an unexpected turn as they begin developing a relationship, raising the central question of whether chemistry or compatibility matters more in love.
Director Balaji Mohan said the series approaches love from a contemporary yet relatable perspective. He noted that love is something people continue to understand throughout their lives and that the series combines the dreams associated with romance with emotions rooted in real life. Arjun Das described Matthew as a character whose emotional and vulnerable side appealed to him, while Aishwarya Lekshmi said playing Tara felt natural and liberating, adding that she could relate closely to the character.
At the trailer launch, the lead actors also shared contrasting views on chemistry and compatibility. Arjun Das felt compatibility is essential for a relationship to last beyond the initial attraction, while Aishwarya Lekshmi said chemistry can be the starting point that eventually develops into compatibility. The series reflects how relationships today can begin through swipes, matches and messages on dating apps rather than traditional face-to-face encounters.
Written by Nirmal Williams, with Sharada Subramanian and Swetha Chakravarthy as co-writers, #Love is produced by May6 Entertainment Factory. With music by Sean Roldan and editing by Sai Muthuraman and Siva, the series brings together romance, friendship, family and ambition against the backdrop of contemporary relationships. #Love will premiere on Netflix on October 2.
