Actor Dhanush’s upcoming film D56, directed by Lubber Pandhu fame Tamizharasan Pachamuthu, has officially begun with a pooja ceremony in Madurai. The film is backed by Sithara Entertainment and Primark Productions and is scheduled for a summer 2027 release.
The pooja stills have revealed the film’s extended cast, with SJ Suryah, Preity Mukundhan, Vijay B Kumar and Vadivelu joining Dhanush. The ceremony reportedly took place at the Maranadu Karuppanaswamy Temple in Sivaganga district, where Dhanush offered an 18-foot sickle to the deity.
Music for the film is composed by Sai Abhyankkar, marking his reunion with Dhanush after D55. More details about the film’s supporting cast and technical crew are expected to be announced soon.
Dhanush is currently filming Om with director Rajkumar Periasamy, while he also has projects lined up with filmmakers including Mari Selvaraj and Vetrimaaran. D56 marks his first collaboration with Tamizharasan Pachamuthu.
