The National Testing Agency’s premises are set to receive security cover from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), according to a report by Business Standard. The move comes amid heightened scrutiny of the agency following controversies surrounding competitive examinations.
The decision follows the controversy surrounding the NEET-UG question paper leak earlier this year, which triggered protests by students across the country. The developments also led to the resignation of then Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, according to the report.
The proposed CISF security arrangement is aimed at strengthening the protection of NTA facilities and examination-related infrastructure. The agency conducts several major entrance and recruitment examinations involving millions of students and candidates across India.
