Paris, Sept 28:

Pope Leo XIV, on a major visit to France, has called on the Catholic Church to continue its efforts to address sexual abuse and protect victims.

The Pope’s visit has included meetings with victims and discussions on the Church’s response to the long-running abuse scandal.

The Pope also celebrated a major Mass in Paris during the visit, drawing large crowds. His appearance in France has attracted considerable public attention as the Catholic Church continues to face questions about accountability, safeguarding and its handling of abuse allegations.

The visit combines religious events with discussions on social and ethical issues. The Pope has also spoken about assisted dying, urging caution over moves that could make the practice a normal part of society, while continuing his wider appeal for greater protection of vulnerable people.
