Arya and director Pa Ranjith’s ‘Sarpatta Parambarai Round 2’ has officially gone on floors. Arya confirmed the development by sharing a poster featuring a boxing ring and wrote, “The origin of Sarpatta Parambarai begins.”
The film is expected to be a prequel to the 2021 period sports drama, which revolved around the boxing rivalry between the Idiyappa Parambarai and Sarpatta Parambarai clans in North Chennai. Ranjith had earlier indicated that the new film would have political elements while retaining boxing and the characters that audiences loved in the first part.
Further details about the cast and technical crew are yet to be announced, while Arya’s return is confirmed. Ranjith recently completed ‘Vettuvam’, which is scheduled for release in December.
