Chennai sailor Nethra Kumanan clinched bronze in the womenās dinghy event at the Asian Games on Friday, securing her first medal at the continental event in her fourth appearance. The 29-year-old two-time Olympian finished with 14 points.
Nethra finished sixth in one of the two final races before winning the other to secure her place on the podium. Thailandās Sophia Montgomery won gold, while Singaporeās Jania Ang took silver.
Nethra had previously competed at the 2014, 2018 and 2022 Asian Games, finishing fourth twice. Her bronze finally ended her long wait for an Asian Games medal.
