Chennai, Oct 3:
The Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) has introduced a 24×7 WhatsApp chatbot facility to enable consumers to register complaints related to electricity services more easily and ensure that the grievances are promptly forwarded to the concerned officials for action.
The new service, named TNEB Chatbot, can be accessed by sending “HI” to 94987 94987 through WhatsApp. The chatbot will collect the details of the complaint using the consumer’s mobile phone number or electricity service connection number.
Once the complaint is registered, it will be forwarded to the concerned official for immediate action. The facility is aimed at making it easier for consumers to lodge complaints at any time of the day and speeding up the process of addressing power-related grievances.
The Electricity Board said the initiative is part of its efforts to improve consumer services and ensure that complaints are resolved within the stipulated time. TNEB has also been strengthening its complaint-handling mechanisms amid continuing efforts to improve the reliability of electricity supply.
How to register a complaint:
Consumers need to open WhatsApp, send “HI” to 94987 94987, and follow the chatbot instructions to provide their mobile number or service connection details.
